This is a role for a creative person who understands children’s motivations, thrives on cross-team collaboration, and has a proven ability to translate ideas into engaging gameplay.
If you want to be part of a team that's redefining the future of education, we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll do
- Champion the Player Experience: Advocate for kids’ fun, engagement, and motivation while balancing educational goals and parental expectations.
- Drive Game Vision: Define and communicate the direction for games and interactive experiences, ensuring alignment with company goals and user needs.
- Design Experiences: Create games that are innovative, intuitive, playful, educational, and tailored to children aged 2–8.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with UX, developers, artists, educators, and product managers to design and refine experiences.
- Prototype & Iterate: Develop sketches, paper prototypes, and digital prototypes to explore mechanics and validate ideas quickly.
- Data & Research-Driven Design: Gather feedback through playtesting with kids, analyze engagement metrics, and refine designs based on insights.
- Document & Share Knowledge: Maintain clear design documentation and contribute to a shared knowledge base on kids’ game design best practices.
- Mentor & Inspire: Supervise and mentor Junior and Mid-Level Kids Game Designers, fostering growth, creativity, and excellence within the team.
What you’ll bring
- Experience: Proven track record (5+ years) in game design, with a strong focus on children’s games, educational games, or interactive learning experiences.
- Kid-Centric Expertise: Deep understanding of child development, play patterns, and motivations of kids aged 2–8.
- Design Skills: Strong ability to design fun, engaging, and intuitive gameplay, balancing creativity and usability.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret both qualitative feedback and quantitative data to make informed design decisions.
- Leadership: Experience mentoring or leading other designers; able to inspire and align a team around a shared vision.
- Communication: Excellent ability to translate gameplay intentions into clear documentation and direction for cross-functional teams.
- Innovation-Driven: A creative thinker who constantly seeks new ways to differentiate products in a competitive market.
English is a must: We’re a multicultural team providing a service in English, so while certifications aren’t necessary, fluency is essential. As a fully remote company, clear and effective spoken and written communication—especially in asynchronous, long-form formats—is key to collaborating successfully.
